APEX @ SPRUCE PEAK in 1 month

I know its a long ways off…I’m really excited about this one. We’ve been working on this show since November, and its going to be an incredible evening!

APEX will be playing at Spruce Peak Performing Arts Center on Saturday February 20th at 7:30 PM. This band features some the best jazz and non-traditional musicians around. We’ll feature:

The first half of the concert will be instrumental, we’ll play some of our favorite musical works. The second half will be our arrangement of Stevie Wonder’s “Songs in the Key of Life,” featuring Lloyd Dugger as guest vocalist.

A Fleeting Animal opening weekend

I know I’m a day late…opening night was last night. This incredible production is one of the not to miss performances of the year! Opening night was incredible, and intense. What a powerful story told and set so   perfectly to the music composed by Eric Nielsen.

Really excited to be a part of the this new collaboration, we’ll be presenting two shows, the first at Arts Riot in Burlington on Wednesday 7/9, and the following at the Green Mountain Club HQ in Waterbury VT on Friday 7/18.

I am debuting a professional chamber music series next month! Please consider attending one of the events listed below.  The TURNmusic series will be presenting modern works that are not locked into one genre.
The July program is acoustic (with the exception of electric guitar).  The program features a popular Vermont singer/songwriter Colin McCaffrey as well as works by some of today’s hottest composers.  I encourage you to check it out. Future programs will feature electronics, voice, even dj.

Liptak/Evans Duo perform house concert July 17! Save the date!

Save the date! July 17th, Dan Liptak and Greg Evans will perform in the intimate setting at Duxbury’s Moose Meadow Lodge. The evening will include a cocktail hour, concert and full dinner following the concert.

We will be performing a 45 minute concert featuring the music of Django Reinhardt and other gypsy jazz greats.

From call and response singing to ripping horn solos, Big Bang Brass fuses the deep funk and swing grooves of New Orleans with the centuries-old Punjabi Bhangra grooves and dance moves reaching back 500 years. The result: a wild and colorful explosion of musical crossroads guaranteed to stir the soul, body, and mind.

Topped off with a troupe of Bhangra dancers, Big Bang Brass features some of Vermont’s best funk and jazz players from such favorites as Movement of the People, The Saturn People’s Sound Collective, ViperHouse, 35th Parallel, Money Jungle, and D’Moja.

Please join guitarist Greg Evans and I as we perform in five locations around northern Vermont. Two of these performances will be recorded live for future release on a CD.

Greg was one of the first musicians that I met when I moved back to Vermont in 2010, and we have consistently been performing regularly since. One of my closest collaborators we have together we have held residencies and performed at Leunigs, 1/2 Lounge, Red Square, Nectars, Burlingtons Marriott Lounge, Parima, Pickwicks pub, Black Cap Cafe, Skinny Pancake in both Burlington and Montpelier, Bagitos, Purple Moon Pub, the Red Hen Bakery Cafe, Radio Bean, The Bees Knees, Mocha Mayas and dozens of private events. We’ve performed hundreds of dates around Vermont, Massachusetts and Canada in the past three years.

We will play the following dates in Vermont to celebrate the venues in which we spend most of our time in:
