Music of Place and Planet: Reflections on a Swiftly Changing Climate, New Works by Vermont Composers

TURNmusic’s March 2026 Watershed/Environmental Programs will blend artistic expression with community engagement to raise awareness about local watershed health and environmental concerns through music, workshops, and collaborative events. This initiative aims to connect audiences with environmental themes, inspiring appreciation for the natural world while fostering creative responses to ecological challenges. By uniting musicians, educators, and environmental advocates, TURNmusic will create meaningful experiences that celebrate both culture and conservation in 2026. The concert program premieres music by Vermont composers Tom Cate, Colin McCaffrey, Elizabeth Reid, and Matt LaRocca.

TURN musicians Dan Liptak and Nic Cannizzaro present “Pocket Grooves!”

A concert featuring modern works for bass clarinet and percussion. This concert will feature new music and world premieres by composers Kyle Saulnier, Liz Reid and Brian Boyes. Brian Boyes will also join Dan and Nic for the performance playing trumpet an keyboards. Having played together for over a decade in many different formats, this will be their first time joining together as a duo for a full concert.

APEX is a 13 piece horn-driven musical experience sure to invigorate your mind, body and soul with an energetic mix of 60’s San Francisco Bay Area funk, rock, fusion, world music and jazz. For this concert, APEX will feature special guest vocalist Lloyd Dugger, in his final VT performance interpreting Stevie Wonder’s “Songs in the Key of Life.”

APEX is an all-star line-up of the best large band musicians Vermont has to offer from the Big Bang Bhangra Brass Band, Renegade Groove, Saturn People’s Sound Collective, Movement of the People, Afinque and many others.
